Natas 2016

NATAS Travel 2016 opens today at the Singapore EXPO Hall 7 and will be held until Sunday, 6 March 2016.

The three-day Fair is open from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm. Admission is free. The Guest-of-Honour for the Opening Ceremony of the Fair is His Excellency, Mr Miguel Angel Navarro Portera, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Singapore.The 48th edition of NATAS travel fairs offers visitors a wide selection of travel choices and special promotions. Beyond customised packages and cruises, visitors stand to win attractive prizes, sample international cuisine, and even learn how to take holiday pictures like a professional.


MasterCard®, as the Official Card for NATAS Travel 2016, will be giving away attractive prizes. Every $500 charged to MasterCard® entitles a buyer to double chances in “Win Up to $8,888 Promotion” where the top three winners shall get back the actual amount charged for their holidays, up to $8,888, $3,888 and $1,888.

Singapore Airlines (SIA)

Singapore Airlines will launch its thrice-weekly A350 service to Düsseldorf, Germany on 21 July 2016. For every $500 spent at NATAS Travel 2016, buyers will stand a chance to win a pair of SIA Business Class tickets to Düsseldorf worth $19,800 which is the grand prize for the draw. In addition to the Grand Draw, every $500 spent allows buyers to participate in the daily Lucky Dip to win attractive gifts. This is limited to the first 300 buyers per day.

Trafalgar Travel

The 2nd to the 4th prizes of the NATAS Grand Draw are Trafalgar’s land tours in Switzerland (9D), France (13D) and Spain (9D) worth a total of $16,800.  Other prizes include a pair of tickets to Europe from Etihad Airways, Amsterdam from Jet Airways, Changsha from SilkAir, Luang Prabang from Lao Airlines, Hong Kong from Cathay Pacific, Bali from Air France-KLM, hotel stays which include Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa (3D2N), Shangri-La Hotel Singapore (2D1N), Ramada Hotel at Zhongshan Park (2D1N), Days Hotel Singapore at Zhongshan Park (2D1N), Tijili Hotel Seminyak Bali (3D2N), Angsana Bintan (2D1N), and Orchard Hotel Singapore (3D2N) and a bottle of wine from In Vino Veritas.

Travel Insurance Packages from AIG

It is vital and recommended to buy travel insurance when going overseas. This will cover you should an unforeseen incident occur during a trip or when you require medical assistance in a foreign country. AIG, as the Official Travel Insurer for NATAS Travel 2016, offers visitors buying selected insurance plans at a discount up to 40%.

National Tourism Organisations (NTOs)

There are nine NTOs participating at the Fair. They are from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Nepal, Shandong (China), Thailand and the U.S. Brazil is hosting the summer Olympics in August and visitors can learn more about the country and also the locations where the games are to be held. For the well-travelled visitors, check out Kazakhstan, the world’s ninth largest country and the gateway to Central Asia and a new destination for many to explore. This is the first time the National Tourism Bureau of the nation of Kazakhstan is participating in the NATAS fair.

Health Tips from Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH)

NATAS’ Strategic Healthcare Partner, TTSH, has once again come on board to provide advice on travel related vaccinations and health matters to all visitors. Travellers going to Brazil for the summer Olympics can seek advice from TTSH on how best to protect themselves from the recent Zika virus outbreak.

Appreciating Art and Travel

One of China’s Calligraphy literati, Steel Pen Master Zhu Xingguo from Shandong, will showcase his elegant study of Art & Travel through his highly prized works. From his demonstration, visitors can learn much about the beauty and elegance behind this fluid and expressive skill.

Tourism Management Institute of Singapore (TMIS)

If you would like to embark on a second career as a tourist guide or tour leader, go to the TMIS’s booth to get more information on the courses they conduct. Mr Steven Lek, Executive Director of NATAS, said: “NATAS Travel 2016 is not only about value-for-money tours and discounted airfares. We have lined up interesting programmes that are suitable for the young to the old. There are specially tailored tours for the widely-travelled visitors who prefer a personalised itinerary. Such tours are offered by several of our exhibitors. Under SkillsFuture, retirees and those who were retrenched may want to consider a career change by taking up courses provided by TMIS to become a qualified tourist guide/tour leader or join the travel industry. It will be three-days of fun, games, performances and prizes galore. There is something for everyone at the NATAS Travel 2016.”
